Michael Cansler writes songs that paint pictures of small-town life and beyond. Songs that come from real life, based on observations, as well as from printed literature. His debut EP 25 was released in 2018. His latest effort is a four song EP called Small Town that came out in June. The stories are real and full of emotion. Michael has played from the Carolina’s to Texas. He continues to hone his craft in the style of those like Chris Knight, Jason Isbell and Guy Clark. http://michaelcanslermusic.com
A Greensboro-based songwriter toting a guitar and banjo, Colin Cutler’s music spans the breadth of Americana, from Appalachian oldtime to blues to oldschool country to folk rock, with lyrics rooted in the earthy storytelling traditions of the South, his Pentecostal upbringing, and literature.
Winner of the 2022 Emerging Artists competition at the Susquehanna Folk Festival, his 3 albums and EP have landed plays on NC and Virginia public radio, the BBC, and community and college stations around the region, placement in the British film Zomblogalypse, mentions in No Depression, Americana Highways, and the Alternate Root, and have taken him to gigs from North Carolina’s Martha Bassett Show, Antlers and Acorns Songwriters Festival, Haw River Ballroom, and NC Folk Festival, to the Jalopy Theatre’s Roots N Ruckus in Brooklyn, City of York Folk Festival (UK) and Romanian National Museum of Literature–and plenty of breweries and farmer’s markets in between. “A seasoned performer, Colin combines his worldly and traveled view with the sound of southern roots.” ~Around Town Sessions
